He drinks water with turmeric and lemon every morning for a week. What happens to his body?

admin, December 20, 2025

In Czech kitchens, turmeric is usually hidden in the back row of spices — and yet it carries a power that many would not attribute to it. When combined with lemon, a drink is created that many drink in the morning as a small “starter of the day”: simple, cheap and natural.

Some people say that after a week of drinking it in the morning they feel lightness in their body and a clearer mind… no miracles, just a small ritual that can fit into everyday life.

Why Czechs love this drink
Turmeric-lemon water is not a magic elixir, but its ingredients have properties that have long been of interest to both traditional cuisine and modern research:

It refreshes the body after waking up, like opening a window to the cool morning air
It gives you energy by slightly boosting your metabolism
Turmeric contributes to natural anti-inflammatory processes in the body
Lemon supports hydration and digestion
A pinch of cinnamon can help stabilize blood sugar levels
It is one of those rituals that does not require anything complicated — just a mug, a few ingredients, and a quiet moment before starting the day.

How to prepare the drink (Czech, simple version)
Ingredients
1 cup of warm water
Juice from half a lemon
1/4 teaspoon of turmeric
1/8 teaspoon of honey
Optional: pinch of cinnamon
Procedure
Heat the water until it is pleasantly warm (it does not have to be boiling).
Add lemon juice, turmeric, honey and possibly cinnamon.
Stir. Turmeric tends to sink to the bottom, so it is good to drink and stir at the same time.
Drink the drink while it is still warm, that is when it has the most pleasant effect.

Turmeric – a little orange helper
Turmeric has its place in oriental cuisines. In our country, we often use it less, so it can also be supplemented in the form of a warm morning drink.

Turmeric is traditionally associated with supporting:

natural immunity
cardiovascular health
stress management
mental vitality
healthy metabolism
Whether you add it to rice, soups or a mug of water — its golden dust has many stories in it.

When to be careful
Every organism is different and some groups of people should treat this drink with caution:

turmeric may not be suitable for everyone; excessive or prolonged use may be contraindicated in some medical conditions
lemon is not recommended for people with severe heartburn, stomach ulcers, gallbladder problems or citrus allergies
excessive consumption of lemon may interfere with bone mineralization in sensitive individuals
it is not advisable to brush your teeth immediately after lemon juice, as the acid will temporarily weaken the enamel
This drink is simply a dietary supplement — not a panacea and not a substitute for medical care.
